This district-level role provides strategic leadership for a comprehensive, student-centered counseling program and supervises school counselors and clerical support staff across all grade levels. The Director partners with building administrators to strengthen academic advisement, integrate counseling services into master scheduling, expand awareness of New York State graduation pathways (including CTE, BOCES, and alternate pathways), and coordinate effective responses to student crises. The role includes developing counseling services for all students through group supports, collaborating with pupil personnel departments to connect students with outside resources, and ensuring strong post-graduation planning for students with disabilities.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong data literacy to inform recommendations, guide decision-making, and support students’ social and emotional well-being, while advancing the District’s implementation of the New York Inspires: Profile of a Graduate and evolving New York State graduation requirements.Qualifications:The successful candidate must:- Possess a valid New York State certificate as a School Counselor.- Possess a valid New York State School Administrator certificate (School District Administrator [SDA] or School District Leader SDL]).- Hold a master’s degree in School Counseling Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a closely related field.- Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a School Counselor, with experience across multiple grade levels.- Demonstrate a proven track record of developing, implementing, and sustaining school or district-wide programs.- Have working knowledge of New York State School Counseling Plans, regulations, and crisis response protocols.- Have experience with master scheduling, including a clear understating of the roles and responsibilities of school counselors throughout the scheduling process.- Demonstrate knowledge of : - New York State graduation requirements, including alternative pathways - Career and Technical Education (CTE)-approved pathways - BOCES program and regional opportunities- Demonstrate knowledge of post-graduate opportunities and transition programs for students with disabilities, including supported employment, higher education and adult services.- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.- Demonstrate a proven record of building collaborative relationships with instructions of higher education and external partners.- Demonstrate working knowledge New York Inspires graduation timeline and the Profile of Graduate.Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, February 25, 2026
