ANTICIPATED OPENING 2024-2025ART TEACHER-LEAVE REPLACEMENT – STARTING ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 10, 2024Overview: The ideal Art Teacher leave replacement candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of high school fine art courses, including Media Arts, Drawing & Painting, AP Computer Graphics, and AP Art History. This individual will work closely with students from diverse backgrounds and skills levels, helping them develop both technical skills and an appreciation of the arts.Responsibilities: - Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and level-appropriate art lessons.- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity, experimentation and critical thinking.- Provide students with constructive feedback and guidance to support their artistic and academic growth.- Prepare students for success in AP level courses, including exam preparation and portfolio development.- Maintain open communication with parents and/or guardians regarding student progress and all classroom activities.- Collaborate with colleagues in the K-12 Visual Arts department to enhance the overall arts curriculum.Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Master’s degree preferred.- Valid NYS Teaching Certificate in Art Education.- Experience in teaching Media Arts, Drawing & Painting, and/or AP level courses in Computer Graphics and Art HistoryLocation: POB JKF HIGH SCHOOLEffective Date: On or before December 10, 2024Salary: As per contract Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, October 9, 2024
