ANTICIPATED OPENING 2023-2024Part Time Occupational Therapist (Monday – Friday; 9:30 am – 12:00 pm)Must meet Civil Service requirements for titleTypical Duties: - Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing and functional abilities- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with other members of the educational team- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students’ educational plans- Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting intervention plans as needed- Offer consultation and support to teachers regarding classroom modifications and accommodations to meet students’ needs- Participate in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise and goals for occupational therapy services- Educate school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to support students’ occupational therapy goals outside of therapy sessions- Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in occupational therapy and apply this knowledge to enhance service delivery Qualifications: - Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)- Experience in working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting- Strong knowledge of educational laws regulations, and policies relating to special education- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamPreferred Skills: - Specialization or additional training in pediatric Occupational Therapy- Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment- Familiarity with sensory integration techniquesSalary: As per contractDeadline to apply: Monday, April 15, 2024
