ANTICIPATED OPENING 23-24SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR (HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL) FULL TIME - PROBATIONARYResponsibilities:- Identify, assess and advise and counsel students, grades 9-12 regarding academic, social, and emotional issues as well as college and career development and planning- Build rapport and collaborate with students, parents, faculty and administrative team- Provide expertise in the area of college admissions and career development- Provide both individual and group counseling to students- Implement and maintain communication with students, parents, faculty and administration regarding student needs and progress- Participate as a member of the building MTSS Committee- Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with behavioral health specialists on developing and implementing student supports- Support and attend relevant student activities and eventsKey Qualifications: - Knowledgeable, motivated and passionate about adolescent growth and development- Strong communication skills both, oral and writing- Collaborative mindset, eager to work in a team-environment- Strong grasp of technology- Culturally responsive approach to working with students with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing educational goals- A strong belief that all children can succeed- Strong organizational skillsRequirements: Must have approved NYS DOE Certification as School CounselorDemonstrated experience (3-5 years) at the secondary levelEffective Date: March 2024Salary: As per contractDeadline to Apply: February 13, 2024
