Duties: Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates an opening for a School Psychologist for the 2025-2026 school year working with students with disabilities attending the Fox Meadow High School program. Duties include completing psycho-educational assessments, providing indicated IEP individual and group counseling services, collaborating with other professionals and/or agencies that provide services, consulting with and providing support to special education teachers, completing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, working with students' families and support networks, providing referral and linking services for both students and families, assisting families in completing necessary applications for recommended services, and maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.Qualifications: NYS School Psychologist certification required. Knowledge of evidenced-based practices that support social and emotional needs within various settings.Characteristics Desired: Extensive knowledge of approaches for students with diverse disabilities including autism and cognitive, learning, and emotional disabilities. Ability to positively manage student behavior in a school setting. Must be organized, able to document mandated services, and can work with multiple teams. Experience with crisis management, threat assessment, Restorative Practices, Peer Mediation, transition planning, and connecting students to OPWDD and ACCES-VR services. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
