Duties: Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Regional Arts Coordinator to coordinate the PNW BOCES Arts in Education, Exploratory Enrichment, and Environmental Contracting Services. Duties may include:- Contracting ServicesRestructure the programs to allow for greater effectiveness and efficiency for districts and PNW BOCES staff;Build and sustain relationships with artists, partners, and district representatives throughout outreach, ongoing communication, and informational meetings.- Arts Professional LearningDevelop and facilitate regional arts education programs and services;Coordinate in-district support provided by partner organizations and facilitate in-district learning, as appropriate;Provide strategic planning and program evaluation support, as requested, for districts exploring growth and development of their arts programs.- CommunicationMaintain positive communication with districts, BOCES, outside organizations, and partners;Expand and maintain relationships and memberships in relevant professional organizations to build capacity to provide cutting-edge curriculum and instruction services;Attend professional conferences and NYSED subject-specific meetings and trainings when available.- OtherAssist with implementation, development, and/or delivery of any ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director.Qualifications: The successful candidate must have:A thorough understanding of the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts;NYS teacher certification in an arts domain;NYS SDL or SDA certification;Minimum of five years of experience teaching at least one arts subject;Leadership experience preferred;Expertise in curriculum design and development, and data-based decision-making experience preferred;Outstanding facilitation, verbal communication, and writing skills, as well as experience providing effective professional learning.Characteristics Desired: Must be organized and exhibit strong planning skills and follow-through;Must have strong interpersonal skills to work well with students, teachers, administrators, and support staff from a wide variety of schools and districts;Must be an innovative self-starter with entrepreneurial skills preferred;Must be aligned with PNW BOCES mission and driven by providing service to others and committed to building strong partnerships.
