Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a full-time Regional World Language Coordinator within the Professional Learning Division.Duties will include, but are not limited to:Develop and facilitate regional World Language programs and services;Coordinate in-district support provided by partner organizations and facilitate in-district learning;Provide strategic planning and program evaluation support for districts exploring changes to their World Language programs;Strengthen current World Language programs offered through BOCES and connect with relevant internal staff for alignment of language learning processes;Maintain positive communication with districts, BOCES, outside organizations, and partners as required;Maintain relationships and memberships in relevant professional organizations to build capacity to provide cutting-edge curriculum;Attend professional conferences and NYSED subject-specific trainings when available;Assist with implementation, development, and/or delivery of any ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director.Qualifications: The successful candidate must have:A thorough understanding of the New York State Learning Standards for World Languages, the Checkpoint exam process, and ACTFL’s World Readiness Standards and proficiency pyramid;New York State teacher certification in at least one World Language;New York State School District Leader certification;Minimum of five years of experience teaching at least one World Language;Expertise in curriculum design and development, and data-based decision-making experience preferred;Outstanding facilitation, verbal communication, and writing skills, and experience providing effective professional learning;Leadership experience in a current or past role is preferred.Characteristics Desired:Must be organized and exhibit strong planning skills and follow-through;Must have strong interpersonal skills to work well with students, teachers, administrators, and support staff from a wide variety of schools and districts.
