Duties:The Social Emotional Learning Specialist designs and delivers professional learning and development activities and has the following responsibilities: Promote the intersectionality of social emotional learning, equity, and cultural responsiveness in the continuous improvement processUnderstand and be familiar with the use of evidence-based instructional materials, practices, and resources that directly teach and measure social, emotional, and self-regulation skillsProvide professional learning and training for implementation of the social emotional learning curriculum and evidence-based practices into the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) at all tiersForge partnerships with community stakeholders and subject matter experts to provide high quality, coordinated servicesProvide technical assistance to and share best practices with district and school staffQualifications:Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.NYS Certification in school psychology, counseling, social work or related field required.Must possess outstanding interpersonal, facilitation, communication and leadership skills.Experience planning and delivering effective professional learning/development preferred.Must be highly independent, well-organized and demonstrate strong planning skills and follow-through.Characteristics Desired:Must have a positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to the PNW BOCES core value of creating pathways to success for every student.
