Plainedge School District has an anticipated vacancy for the following position:Unified Basketball CoachResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Recruiting athletes (with an IEP) and partners to participate on the teamSurvey interest from children with disabilities in middle school/high schoolWork with SPED director in evaluation IEP's for needs of the athletesOversee teacher aides who assist the teamTravel with team on bus to and from away gamesCommunicate with families of athletes on teamHold practices at least two days per week for April/MayCoach for a minimum number of league gamesCoach in playoff games (pay per PFT contract)Manage equipment and uniforms with athletic director Identify requirements for the Unified Sports leagueParticipate in Unified meetings run by league/state coordinatorParticipate in Youth Activation Committee (YAC) SummitMeet with YAC/Student leaders advisor(s)Coach must hold and maintain proper certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED and Concussion
