SCHOOL DISTRICT TREASURER Pleasantville Union Free School District, located in Westchester County, is currently accepting applications for the position of School District Treasurer. The district serves approximately 1600 students in grades K – 12 at three schools.Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Business and supervision of the school board, the School District Treasurer is regarded as a highly important position involving responsibility for the accounting of fiscal operations of the District. Salary Range: $95,000 to $105,000.Skills & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Westchester County Civil Service requirements for this positionKnowledge of governmental accounting and record keeping principlesKnowledge of financial software, nVisionExcellent organizational and time management skillsImplement and control adopted school budgetReceive district's funds from various levels of government and other sources and deposit in the bank(s) designated by the BOESign all checks issued by the districtKeep a record of district receipts and disbursementsSubmit reports of district's finances to the Board of EducationPrepare financial records and documents for the external, internal, and claims auditorsPrepare required filings with the New York State Education Department and federal government agencies in a timely fashionPrepare accurate cash flow and budget projections and reportsSupport business official in preparing and monitoring the budgetReconcile bank statementsBalance and close District accounting books at month-end and year-endResponsible for all district funds, including General Fund, Capital Funds, School Lunch Fund and TE FundManage all Federal and State grantsResponsible for receivablesResponsible for debt paymentsKeep up to date with current developments, current interpretations, and current methodology of financial accountingKeep up to date with school finance rules and regulations
