The Pine Bush Central School District has a vacancy for a full-time, 12 month Public Information Specialist, a probationary position starting on August 1, 2026. This position is Civil Service Competitive, must be eligible for appointment through Orange County Department of Personnel. Salary commensurate with experience, starting from $65,000 - $95,000. This position involves public relations work with responsibilities for publicizing and distributing district news, events, programs, services, and information related to budget. Employees in this class maintain close contact and cooperate with appropriate administrators and local media representatives. Work is performed independently in accordance with established policies and practices with direct oversight by Superintendent or district administrator. Does related work as required. Good knowledge of principle and practices of journalism and public relations; as well as knowledge of the media sources appropriate for the dissemination of information; and knowledge of English usage, spelling, punctuation and grammar; ability to acquire a knowledge of school district services facilities; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to express oneself effectively in oral and/or written form.
