The Pine Bush Central School District anticipates a vacancy for a 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher, a probationary position starting in January/February 2024, at the elementary school. Interested Candidates, please apply to this posting by completing an application and submitting a resume. This is for a special class for students with limited language skills. In addition to communication needs, students may have sensory needs and daily living skills needs. Due to these needs, students may also exhibit behaviors. Candidates should have knowledge and/or experience working with students with Autism, sensory integration deficits, and alternative forms of communication such as PECS and AAC devices. Candidates should be willing and able to be trained and assist in crisis intervention including physical holds. Experience in ABA, TEACCH, or similar interventions preferred but not required. Appropriate NYS teaching certification is required - Students with Disabilities Gr. 1-6 and Students with Disabilities B-2 preferred. Salary is negotiable based on experience and background.
