The Peru Central School District expects to appoint an individual to the following position for the 2023 - 2024 school year:Associate Principal of Athletics/Athletics CoordinatorAnticipated Assignment:• 11-month• May be a teacher on special assignment (TOSA)Responsibilities May Include:• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and regulations for athletic programs that align with the school district's values and mission.• Manage and supervise coaches, trainers, and staff involved in athletic programs.• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as those set forth by the school district.• Oversee the budget for athletic programs, including fundraising and grant opportunities.• Create and maintain schedules for all athletic events, including practices, games, and tournaments.• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to promote student participation in athletics.• Develop and implement programs that promote healthy lifestyles and wellness for all students.• Ensure that all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements and maintain academic standards.• Foster a positive and inclusive culture that promotes sportsmanship and character development.• Experience in budget management, fundraising, and grant writing.• Strong leadership and communication skills.• Developing & Implementing the District Mission and Vision of Athletic Programing in conjunction with the Districts Core Beliefs.• Have a deep understanding of physical education, sports management, and the educational system.• Have knowledge of state and federal regulations related to athletics and physical education.• Other duties per contract.Compensation: • $80,000 - $85,000 - Commensurate with qualifications and experienceCertification in either School Building Leader/School Building Administrator (SBL/SBA) or School District Leader/School District Administrator (SDL/SDA), and at least five (5) years of experience in sports management (preferably in a school setting), is preferred. A bachelor's or master’s degree in Physical Education, or a related field, may be required.
