Pearl River School District is seeking a professional leader to serve as its next Coordinator of School Transportation I. This position coordinates all pupil transportation with our contracted transportation providers. Pearl River School District serves approximately 2200 students in grades K-12 across five school buildings. In addition, the District provides transportation to students attending out-of-district and private schools.Minimum qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and six (6) years of paid administrative or management experience in the field of transportation, one (1) year of which must have involved passenger movement and one (1) year of which must have included planning vehicle routes and scheduling drivers. The specialized experience may be gained concurrently. NOTE: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field or a field related to transportation may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience.This position will be filled in accordance with Rockland County Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Job specifications Effective Date: July 1, 2023 In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate should possess:A record of working collaboratively with administrators, faculty/staff, parents and contracted providers to meet the transportation needs of students;Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing the safe, efficient and economical transportation of students;Very strong technology skills and the ability to learn and master new programs;Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups;Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.This 12-month position reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
