The Port Chester - Rye UFSD is looking for an experienced Accounts payable clerk that hold the Westchester County Civil Service title of Audit Clerk. Must have experience working in a School District Accounts Payable Department. Salary will be based on experience. The Port Chester- Rye UFSD offers a competitive benefits package with Vacation, Personal Time and sick leave.Responsibilities include:Maintains open purchase order files for all fundsProcesses new purchase orders for the Business Administrator's OfficePrepares purchase orders (including zero balance orders/blanket orders for the new school year) and sets up for all lease obligations and utilitiesMaintains and reconciles all open purchase orders placed with vendors, matching receiving documents and payments to vendorsChecks open purchase order file monthly to review invoices and vouchers so open purchase orders can be processed for paymentInvestigates and responds to past due notices from vendorsReviews problems concerning purchase orders with school principals/teachers, also requests the receiving copy of the purchase orders from the various schoolsMaintains files covering vendor copies, paid vouchers, accounting copies, cancelled check copies, and telephone bills in an organized mannerAssists in year-end closeout, reconciles open purchase orders to year encumbrance report.
