It is anticipated that the following full-time positions are available for the 2023-2024 school year effective September 1, 2023 Teaching Assistant (5) The Port Chester Public Schools seek motivated and dynamic educators who will be responsible for supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons to a diverse student population. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity. Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and help the students make a satisfactory transition to school. Establishes and maintains standards of classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities. Provides appropriate instruction and activities for students to meet school/district policies, goals and objectives. Cooperates with other professional staff members to deliver the instructional program. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or professional growth activities and university courses.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED The position requires current NYS certification in the area of Teaching Assistant (Level I, II, or III).Applications must be submitted before May 5, 2023.
