This posting is for Park Avenue Elementary School for a Bilingual Special Education Teacher holding K-12 Special Education Certificate with Bilingual Extension or Students with Disabilities (Birth - Grade 2) and (Grades 1-6) Professional Certificate with Bilingual Extension in New York State. Thank you for your interest in a career in Port Chester Public Schools.Requirements: NYS Certified Special Education Teacher K-12 with Bilingual Extension or Students with Disabilities (Birth - Grade 2) and (Grades 1-6) Professional Certificate with Bilingual Extension Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:Conduct evaluations inclusive of curriculum-based assessmentApply proficiency with IEPDirect to manage students’ recordsParticipate at CSE meetingsConfer with teachers, parents, and related service providers regarding datato support student developmentKnowledge of current trends in special education, research methods, testing and evaluation techniquesMaintain accurate records and service logsConduct screenings of studentsComplete other Special Education related duties as assigned by the School Principal, the Director of Special Education and/or their designeeCandidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with parents, students, and other constituent groups.
