ANTICIPATED POSITION AVAILABLE 2026-2027 POSTING # 039-26-27 APPLICATION DEADLINE : April 10, 2026 POSITIONS: Music Teachers (K-12) Elementary General Music/Chorus Teacher Strong Vocal Background Must have knowledge of Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze, and Gordon teaching pedagogy Elementary/Middle School Band Teacher Strong instrumental background required Must be competent on secondary instruments REQUIREMENTS: Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification in Music Must have a strong classroom management plan in place and be able to make adjustments when necessary COMMENTS: Must be creative and passionate instructional leader who possesses the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Music Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of music. Collaborate with colleagues and utilize various curriculum resources to create objective-based lessons aligned to current NYS learning standards. Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality instruction. Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all students. Utilize data to inform instructional decisions. Establish a supportive classroom environment that provides for the social-emotional learning of all students. Grade student work and maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades. Effectively communicate with parents and students regarding academic progress. Attend required meetings and participate in professional development opportunities. Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and musical abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities Provide instruction that reflects the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
