RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative supervision of the Secondary ENL, Bilingual Education, and World Languages DepartmentScheduling, budgeting, staff development, supervision, evaluation and various other tasks assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Superintendent of SchoolsExtensive knowledge of curriculum and instructionStrong instructional leadership experience requiredKnowledge and expertise with NYS Standards, Project Based Learning, and Differentiated InstructionStrong interpersonal, organizational, communication and writing skillsThe ability to motivate staff and students to achieve academic excellenceDemonstrate proactive, visionary leadershipExperience with budget developmentComprehensive understanding of various technological resources as instructional toolsPossess extensive knowledge of Part 154 RegulationsCoordinate enrollment of new ENL students and facilitate appropriate testing and placementCollaborate with building principals and other ENL teachers in developing schedules and complying with the State and Federal requirements for individual student programsAttend training and provide turnkey information with other ENL and general education teachersCoordinate testing requirements; assist with translation and interpretationDesign and write curriculum for the ENL, World Languages, and Bilingual programsConduct observationsCollect necessary data and prepare annual State required reportsCollaborate with staff on Equity and Inclusivity initiatives as outlined by the Superintendent of SchoolsFacilitate family-oriented events for our ENL and Bilingual familiesPerform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction SUPERVISES: Secondary ENL, Bilingual and World Language Teachers REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction SALARY: As per PMAA Contract $139,614 - $153,813 EFFECTIVE: July 1, 2025 EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:All costs associated with these employment requirements are the responsibility of the employee:Fingerprint clearance from the NY State Department of Education (NYSED)Drug ScreeningPhysical Examination Patchogue-Medford Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
