RESPONSIBILITIES:Implementing NYS World Language and ACTFL standardsCollaborating with colleagues on curricula and lesson plansDeveloping lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual learnersProviding conversational opportunities where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taughtTeaching writing and compositionScheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinationsMonitoring students’ progress by writing reports and grading assessmentsOrganizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicableProviding suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling studentsTeaching students about culture, which may include festivals, traditional food and dress, and social conventionsOrganizing events where students can showcase their language skills REPORTS TO: Academic Director/Building Administration/Assistant Superintendent for Instruction SALARY: Salary range in accordance with PMCT contract LOCATION: High School EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2025 EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:All costs associated with these employment requirements are the responsibility of the employee:Fingerprint clearance from the NY State Department of Education (NYSED)Drug ScreeningPhysical Examination Patchogue-Medford Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
