RESPONSIBILITIES:The Music Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art. Collaborate with colleagues and utilize various curriculum resources to create objective-based lessons aligned to current NYS learning standards.Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality instruction.Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all students.Utilize data to inform instructional decisions.Establish a supportive classroom environment that provides for the social-emotional learning of all students.Grade student work and maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.Effectively communicate with parents and students regarding academic progress.Attend required meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and musical abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activitiesProvide instruction that reflects the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.REPORTS TO: Academic Director/Building Administration/Assistant Superintendent for Instruction SALARY: Salary range in accordance with PMCT contract LOCATION: TBD EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2023 EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:All costs associated with these employment requirements are the responsibility of the employee:Fingerprint clearance from the NY State Department of Education (NYSED)Drug ScreeningPhysical Examination Patchogue-Medford Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
