The principal of the elementary school is directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate should possess those personal and professional leadership qualities essential to the operation of a grades 3-6 program, including the following: A broad academic background with evidence of scholarship and continued professional growth. Effective communication skills with the ability to relate well to children, staff, and community. A knowledge and understanding of curriculum, staff development and program evaluation. Comprehensive knowledge of child development. A commitment to the value of long-range planning and the achievement of school and district goals.
