Job descriptionWork in an exciting and meaningful field teaching children with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Teacher of Students with Disabilities 7-12 to provide comprehensive services to reflect each student's developmental level.Orange-Ulster BOCES provides the foundation and knowledge that enables its students to venture forth in any direction they choose.Students served (K-12) include individuals with significant developmental and intellectual disabilities, social/emotional needs, behavior management needs and/or learning differences. You’ll do this by:• Serving as the subject matter expert, working directly with identifying, developing and implementing appropriate instructional strategies, materials, equipment and environmental factors that will maximize a student's individual needs• Drafting appropriate annual goals and short-term objectives to present at the annual CSE meeting, evaluating and re-evaluating the short-term objectives on a regular basis • Possessing the critical thinking skills to effectively assess, develop and deliver training and information to establish and maintain strong relationships and regularly communicate scholars' progress towards goals Why this is a great job:You will make a difference!
