The classroom teacher for the Guardians of Lake Ontario Sanctuary Camp provides high-quality, grade-level instruction with a focus on developmentally appropriate interdisciplinary career exploration experiences for students entering grades 4 and 5. Teachers will participate in an inspiration day at Sterling Nature Center on May 27 and be engaged in authentic curriculum writing on June 9 and 10 to prepare for launch at camp. Teachers will facilitate and support students to prepare an exhibition on the final day. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and deliver a week long authentic learning experience. Coordinate and support students to prepare a culminating student showcase on the last day of camp. Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes strong student engagement. Collaborate with other teachers and the CiTi Instructional Support Services team to create a robust learning experience for students. Participate in required curriculum planning, orientation sessions and staff meetings. Maintain accurate records of attendance. Follow all program policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid NYS teaching certification in Elementary Education/Childhood Education. Experience teaching in a K-12 setting. START DATE: August 10, 2026 (with required curriculum development on May 27, June 9- 10, 2026 and virtual orientation August 5, 2026 from 9:00-10:00 am) END DATE: August 14, 2026 PROGRAM SCHEDULE: August 10-14, 2026 Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm (student day 8:30-2:30) LOCATION: CiTi BOCES Mexico Campus COMPENSATION: Compensation for current CiTi staff is their per diem rate. Compensation for non-CiTi employees is $53.79/hour or $56.00/ hour with master’s degree Compensation for curriculum development is $39.78/hour
