CiTi BOCES is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our High School Day Treatment Program. This specialized program serves students with significant emotional, behavioral, and academic needs who benefit from a highly structured educational environment paired with therapeutic supports.The successful candidate will teach a high school 8:1:1 special class, providing individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, New York State Learning Standards, and tailored behavioral supports.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that support both academic and behavioral growth.Collaborate with mental health staff, teaching assistants, and related service providers to support students' academic and emotional needs.Provide instruction aligned with New York State Standards.Collect data and document student progress towards IEP goals.Participate in CSE meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions.Foster a supportive, therapeutic, and structured classroom environment that promotes student growth and success.Implement behavioral strategies and crisis intervention when necessary, following program protocols.Qualifications:NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities (7-12 or All Grades) required.Dual certification in English 7-12 or Social Studies 7-12 preferred.Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in a therapeutic or highly structured setting is highly desirable.Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, and behavior management techniques is a plus.
