Oswego County P-TECH is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our collaborative team. Our students are hands-on, creative thinkers who benefit from tailored support aligned to both ELA and Math standards. Our instruction goes beyond test preparation to foster deep understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of knowledge.Instructional SupportProvide direct consultant teacher services within general education classrooms, focusing on co-planning and co-teaching with content-area teachers.Implement differentiated instruction to meet the varied learning needs and creative thinking styles of students.Support instruction and progress aligned specifically to NYS Next Generation Math and ELA Standards.Assist students with the development of executive functioning, self-advocacy, and problem-solving skills.Collaborate with general education teachers to design accessible learning experiences IEP and Progress MonitoringMonitor and document progress toward IEP goals with an emphasis on standard-based measurements.Conduct regular progress updates, report writing, and data analysis to support student growth and adjust interventions.Participate in annual reviews, triennial evaluations, and committee on special education (CSE) meetings.Maintain timely and accurate IEP documentation and progress reports in Communication and CollaborationEstablish strong, supportive relationships with students and families through ongoing communication (phone calls, emails, meetings).Work collaboratively with the P-TECH team (teachers, counselors, OCC liaison, administrators) to ensure student success across academic, social-emotional, and career-readiness domains.Communicate effectively with home districts regarding student performance, IEP implementation, and progress monitoring updates.Participate in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) meetings and assist in designing targeted interventionQualificationsValid New York State certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 7–12 Generalist or Content-Specific)Strong background in co-planning, co-teaching, and differentiated instructionExperience working with creative and outside-the-box thinkers preferred
