CiTi BOCES is seeking a passionate and dedicated Long Term Substitute ELA Teacher to join our Bridges to Success program, an Alternative Program for students in Oswego County in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English Language Arts and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position involves delivering engaging and differentiated instruction to students, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success.QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree in English, Educa?? on, or a related fi eld (Master’s degree preferred).• Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts (grades 9-12).• Experience working with high school students, preferably in an alternative education setting.• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Plan and deliver ELA lessons that align with state standards and the curriculum.• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in the Alternative Program.• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
