Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher specializing in Career & Technical Education (CTE) to join our high school team. The successful candidate will serve in a consultant model, providing support to staff to ensure students with special needs are effectively integrated into CTE programs and can achieve their full potential. This position will support the identified learning needs of students who are enrolled in our ½ day CTE programs. Knowledge of and/or comfort working with a variety of trades teachers is beneficial, but not required. Creative, flexible, and innovative candidates who enjoy working in classrooms and shop environments are encouraged to apply. This position is located on the CiTi main campus and follows the school calendar. Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with CTE instructors to develop and adapt curriculum & instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.Provide strategies & supports for CTE teachers to successfully implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) which align with program CTE standards and goals.Develop & maintain student IEP matrix, per CTE program.Assist with technical assessment scheduling, administration & data analysis.Provide professional development and ongoing support to CTE teachers on best practices.Assist in the development and utilization of appropriate assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the CTE programs and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities.Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the school district and state regulations.Participate in school-wide events, initiatives, and committees to support the overall mission of CiTi BOCES & CTE. Attend & participate in CTE Advisory. Participate in NYSED CTE Program reapproval & all its components.Qualifications:New York State Teacher’s Certification in Special Education.Experience in Career & Technical Education (CTE) at the high school level is preferred.Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and ADA.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with educators and administrators.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
