The Oswego County P-TECH program is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and dedicated English Teacher (.5 FTTE) to join our team! Founded in 2016, Oswego County P-TECH provides incoming first-year students from nine school districts in Oswego County the opportunity to pursue a high-school Regents Diploma, a no-cost two-year associate degree from Onondaga Community college, and workforce development programming such as Industry Mentoring, Job Shadowing, Internships and more. Organized and overseen through a partnership between K-12, Higher Education, and local Industry, students focus on the academic, technical, and professional skills that lead to mid-level industry jobs with middle class salaries upon graduation. Graduates of P-TECH are currently employed with Advanced Manufacturing facilities throughout Oswego County and CNY including, Novelis, Huhtamaki, Davis-Standard, Carrier, Lockheed Martin and more. As a valued teacher in the P-TECH program, the position responsibilities include the following: * Design and implement a Technical Writing course that aims to equip students with the skills necessary to communicate complex technical information effectively, including consideration to the following: * Understanding the Targeted Audience. * Use of simple and plain language to convey complex technical concepts. * Structure Technical Documents Effectively * Development of the appropriate tone and style for communication intention. * Use and development of appropriate visual aids. * Collaboration and teamwork for effective team management * Work with a passionate and supportive team of professionals in designing and supervising authentic workforce development activities that promote student growth.This position will be in-person, during the afternoon and be based out of CiTi BOCES Main Campus in Mexico, NY.We encourage all applicants to learn about our student’s success by visiting our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube page or website at www.citiboces.org/ptech
