The Ossining Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking educator to serve as the next Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of inspiring leadership, collaborative practice, and a passion for fostering excellence. This leader will be responsible for promoting a culture of sportsmanship, school spirit, and the scholar-athlete, while advancing a comprehensive K–12 program that reflects the district’s commitment to equity, wellness, and community pride. In a district known for its rich traditions and strong community partnerships, the Director will be charged with building upon this foundation and leading a unified vision for physical education, health, and athletics.Key Responsibilities:Provide visionary leadership to promote the development of an integrated, K-12 Physical Education, Health, and Athletics program.Supervise K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment in Physical Education and Health Education across the district.Observe and evaluate Physical Education and Health teachers, as well as coaches, to support growth and enhance performance.Design and deliver targeted professional learning opportunities for educators and coaches to ensure best practices.Oversee all aspects of a comprehensive and competitive athletic program, ensuring student safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and codes.Foster collaboration and engagement with students, staff, families, and community partners to advance programmatic goals and school pride.Promote access, and excellence in all areas of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics.Qualifications:Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a Director or administrative capacity in Physical Education, Health, or Athletics.Deep understanding of curriculum and instruction, especially in Physical Education and Health Education.Strong organizational, collaborative, interpersonal, and communication skills.Knowledge of NYSPHSAA and other athletic regulations and requirements.Proven ability to manage a large team and multifaceted program with vision and integrity.Required Certifications:Valid New York State Teaching Certification in a relevant area.Valid New York State Administrative Certification – SDA (School District Administrator) or SDL (School District Leader).Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
