Qualifications:NYS School District Administrator CertificationMasters DegreeAt least five years of teaching experienceAt least five years of leadership experienceDemonstrated knowledge and expertise in the principles of a multi-tiered system of supports( MTSS) inclusion, and professional developmentDemonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively with professional teams*Alternatives to the above qualifications as determined by the Superintendent of SchoolsPerformance Responsibilities:Provide assistance to K-12 principals and their staff in student achievement and graduation rates.Provide for district-wide, ongoing process of professional development in the basic tenets of MTSS and inclusive teaching practices for all instructional staff, with an initial focus on comprehensive implementation of universal core instruction and basic interventions, with a particular focus on literacy. Lead related professional development for instructional leaders and staff.Supervise the teacher evaluations process with the goal of supporting instructor pedagogy. Work with building level leadership to provide training of site-based teams in the underlying tenets of MTSS and the use of universal screening instruments (aimed at identifying student strengths and needs for additional assessment and/or support).Provide schools with frequent and on-going follow up support in implementation of site-based behavioral and academic intervention teams.Communicate and collaborates regularly with Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Personnel on the progress of implementation of assessment results.Support building leadership teams in ensuring that a system of student progress monitoring is current and recorded with fidelity in the student success platform.Schedule and Facilitates District MTSS team.Compile and report effectiveness of school site interventions to the Curriculum and Instruction department to continue to improve District and site systems.Design, implement, and supervise District-wide MTSS structures, processes, and interventions.Collaborate with the district's AIS Coordinator to plan and provide professional learning for math and reading teachers who provide academic support.Collaborate with the district MTSS Data Coordinator to provide data reports supporting MTSS structures and building decision-making teams. Implement literacy curriculum and instruction that meets the needs of all students across all tiersDevelop and monitor the impact on outcomes of interventions and instructional supports.Work collaboratively with buildings and Literacy Teacher Leaders to develop monthly professional learning sessions.Terms of Employment: This is a (12) twelve month position.
