Qualifications:NYS School Administrator, NYS School District Administrator Certification, or eligibility.Minimum of (5) five years experience in education.Strong commitment to children.Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development and school improvement.Knowledge of the New York State Learning Standards and understanding of effective classroom instruction.Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.Reports to:Superintendent of SchoolsSupervises:All certified and non-certified staff assigned to the schoolJob Goals:To provide support to the administration, staff and children within a middle schoolPerformance Responsibilities: Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school, leads school level planning for the improvement of instruction. Manages the activities of the school in accordance with school law and board policies and regulations.Supervises and manages site operation to ensure the safety and efficiently.Conducts faculty meetings as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.Instructs staff regarding established safety procedures, plans and supervises fire and other emergency drills as required by law and board policy.Evaluation:Performance of this position and its responsibilities will be evaluated annually in accordance with the current contract.Terms of Employment:This is a (12) twelve month position. Salary is established in accordance with the Ossining Association of Administrators and Supervisors contract. School District Leader Certification required.
