The Ossining School District is in need of a Community Outreach Worker for the First Steps program. Bilingual preferred.First Steps / Primeros Pasos is seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator / Family Specialist to oversee our enriching programs for young children and their families. Birth - 3 year-olds.Key Responsibilities:Program Leadership: Manage on-site program operations, contribute in the design ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children and families. This includes overseeing daily activities, ensuring smooth arrivals and dismissals, and maintaining facility standards.Family & Community Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for students and families, fostering positive relationships. Develop and implement outreach plans, organize events (like orientation sessions and field trips), and act as a liaison with partner organizations and service providers (e.g., District CPSE, SP/OT/PT/SEIT).Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise program staff, provide guidance and support, and organize ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure a positive and effective team.Administrative & Data Management: Maintain participant and prospect databases, handle student registrations, intake, attendance, and record keeping. Manage program supplies and materials.Instructional Support: Instruct a 2-year-old “Playgroup” program weekly, lead interactive Friday sessions, and provide classroom support for "Little School."Health & Safety: Maintain medical records and supplies, provide first aid care, and manage allergy awareness and food restrictions. (Training in AMAP, First Aid, CPR, and Epi-Pen usage is required and will be maintained.)Skills & Knowledge We're Looking For:Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and educational issues.Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.Creative, strategic, and analytical thinking with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.Proven experience in project development, staff management, training, supervision, and assessment.Proficiency in database management.Highly organized, collaborative, and able to work effectively with diverse groups.Previous experience in a community-based organization is a plus.Experience in event planning, curriculum planning, and implementation.Current First Aid/CPR/Epi-Pen Certification (or willingness to obtain).Civil Service exam required. CSEA contractual rate.
