GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Perform routine grounds duties, provide field security and operate a school vehicle; does related work as required.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES: Some knowledge of the accepted procedures and practices of grounds maintenance work; ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; good knowledge of the operation of buses and other automotive equipment; ability to make minor mechanical repairs; ability to protect and get along with children; dependability; physical endurance; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS;(1) Possession of the appropriate New York State Driver's Permit to operate a school bus, issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment; License should be obtained within 90 days of appointment.(2) Drivers must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. NOTE: In addition, candidates must satisfy the requirement for School Bus Driver as set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education.CSEA contractual rate.
