Position OverviewAnne M. Dorner Middle School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Spanish Teacher to join our World Languages team in a probationary position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for language learning and global cultures, skilled in creating engaging and rigorous instruction, and committed to supporting all learners in developing strong communication skills in Spanish.ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging, standards-based Spanish instruction aligned with the NYS World Languages StandardsCreate a classroom environment that fosters cultural appreciation, linguistic growth, and student confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish.Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of middle school students, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs/504 Plans.Integrate authentic resources, technology, and real-world applications to enhance language learning.Implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives.Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.Maintain high expectations for student achievement, behavior, and engagement.QualificationsRequired:NYS Certification in Spanish 7-12.Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)Strong understanding of second language acquisition and culturally responsive teaching practicesPreferred:Experience teaching middle school studentsExperience incorporating technology into language instructionAbout Anne M.
