The Ossining UFSD is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for literacy, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning in all students.Minimum Requirements:Valid New York State Teaching Certification in English Language Arts, Grades 5–9 or 7–12Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)Deep understanding of the New York State Learning Standards and standards-based instructionPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with diverse student populations and differentiated instructionStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environmentStudents with Disabilities (SWD) certification preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredResponsibilities Include:Designing and implementing engaging ELA lessons aligned to NYS standardsCreating a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growthAssessing and responding to student learning needs through formative and summative assessmentsCollaborating with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student achievementParticipating in ongoing professional development and school initiativesTo Apply:Please submit a letter of interest, resume, copy of certification(s), and at least three professional references via the OLAS platform.
