We are seeking an energetic, influential, and dedicated leader to fill our vacancy for an Assistant Superintendent with a possible 7/1/2022 start date. The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Superintendent of Schools with the daily supervising, planning, implementation and evaluation of the K-12 education program. He or she will assist school and district leaders with providing appropriate leadership for the instructional program; overseeing the District’s compliance with NYS guidelines, mandates and regulations and will provide leadership for while also participating in District wide strategic planning efforts to achieve educational excellence for students. As a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet the Assistant Superintendent is primarily responsible for and supervises the district instructional technology program, various strategic planning efforts, all federal grant programs, district registration, district security, all districtwide Dignity for all Student Act procedures and compliance (DASA), student hearings, district’s code of conduct efforts and specialized projects as determined by the Superintendent of Schools.QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants must have a master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in personnel administration; educational administration, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, or closely related field in educational leadership and appropriate NYS School District Leadership certification. Experience as a school building and/or district leader is strongly preferred.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Applicants must be able to fully demonstrate:knowledge of and skills in interpreting applicable federal and state lawsthe ability to write and manage all approved federal, state and local grantsthe ability to develop district policies and proceduresknowledge of current principles and methods of public-school management; comprehensive knowledge of school law, and school district organization.the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct a variety of complex technical operations involving efforts of multiple specialized units of a broad management program for a mid-size school district (3650 students)the ability to collect, interpret, and analyze complex technical data, as well as identify potential problems, evaluate alternative solutions, and prepare sound recommendationsthe ability to make difficult – challenging decisions utilizing comprehensive decision-making process and/or proceduresthe ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; andthe ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
