Director of Transportation (Provisional Appointment) Onteora Central School DistrictThe Onteora Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Transportation.Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from high school.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the operation of multi-passenger vehicles or the dispatching of motor equipment.Eligibility for the appropriate level New York State Driver’s License at the time of application; possession of the license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.Preferred Qualifications:Solid understanding of transportation operations, bus safety, and New York State Motor Vehicle and Department of Transportation regulations.Experience with Transfinder or similar routing software.Strong leadership and supervisory skills to effectively manage staff and contractors.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, families, and community stakeholders.Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and reporting skills.Excellent interpersonal skills, reliability, and dependability.Additional Information:This is a provisional appointment. The successful candidate must take, pass, and score in the top three (3) on the Ulster County Civil Service examination for Director of Transportation, or already hold the title.In accordance with SAVE Legislation, a fingerprint-supported criminal background check is required for selected applicants.
