Automotive MechanicMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either:(a) Successful completion of 30 credit hours in Automotive Technology from a regionally accredited college or university; and two (2) years of experience in an automotive equipment repair shop performing maintenance of automotive equipment; or(b) Graduation from high school technical or vocational program in automotive equipment maintenance and repair; and two (2) years of experience in an automotive equipment repair shop performing maintenance of automotive equipment; or(c) Three (3) years of experience in an automotive equipment repair shop performing maintenance of automotive equipment; or(d) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a), (b), and (c).SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: • Must possess at time of appointment, or obtain within six-months of appointment, a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements. Must maintain license throughout the duration of employment. • Must possess at time of appointment, or obtain within six-months of appointment, a New York Motor Vehicle Inspector’s license – Group 1.
