Position: One (1) full-time, 10-month, Probationary, Teacher Unit position located at the Otsego Area Occupational Center in Milford.Qualifications and Responsibilities: Applicants must possess or be eligible for a NYS Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification. NYS Cosmetology license required. High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four (4) years of paid occupational experience or an associate’s degree or higher in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ paid experience required. Applicants must be able to provide proof of paid occupational experience. NYSED fingerprint clearance required.ONC BOCES will assist the chosen applicant in obtaining the required NYS teaching certification if needed.The selected candidate will teach the New York State approved Cosmetology curriculum and prepare students to take the New York State Cosmetology Exam. Student population consists of students enrolled in 11th and 12th grade, as well as adults. Class consists of theory and lab activities performed at our campus salon. The teacher will assist students in reaching the goal of achieving the 1,000 hour requirement to sit for the state exam.
