Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources or other designated supervisor. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)Evaluates credentials of teachers, teaching assistants, and non-teaching coaching certification applications for determination of eligibility;Acts as liaison between component and non-component school districts and the NYSED Office of Teaching Initiatives;Responds to all inquiries from superintendents and applicants of the participating school districts and its residents, both written and oral regarding certifications;Assists all school districts with expedited requests of applications;Validates teacher and administrative certifications for employment for all districts;Maintains extensive contact with all school district administrators to advise them of regulation updates and certification issues within their districts;Attends conferences and meetings held by NYSED Office of Teaching relevant to educational certification;Other related human resources duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of the general organization and function of a BOCES and of the educational system; Good knowledge of the principles and practices of credentialing techniques; Ability to communicate both written and oral; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to use computer applications and utilize common software programs including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
