QUALIFICATIONSPossession of Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or closely related field AND one (1) year of experience in an educational setting working with youth; ORGraduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or closely related field AND two (2) years of experience in an educational setting working with youth.Possession of New York State K-12 Teacher Certification or New York State K-12 School Counselor Certification may be substituted for (2) two years of experience.Civil Service positionPROMOTIONAL Candidates must have permanent status for a period of twenty-four (24) months as a Career Exploration Specialist with Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES. DUTIES: The position of Senior Career Exploration Specialist design and provide career education services to students K-12 in the OHM BOCES and its component districts. Teach students to develop professional skills through experiences such as job shadowing, internships, career days and classroom instruction. Develop career programming and mentor career exploration specialists. STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
