Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES is seeking a Personnel Technician I to join our Human Resources team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Cross training with Human Resources staff members to create continuity for essential functionsFacilitating Civil Service requirements for new hires and existing staffCommunicating with and reporting to Oneida County Civil Service as necessaryAdministering Civil Service policies and proceduresProducing reports as necessaryTracking attendance and leave time accruals for BOCES staffWorking cooperatively with staff to automate personnel documentationPosting open positions on website and with external advertisersTracking open positionsPreparing memorandums and reports as necessaryAnswering phones, opening and distributing mail, and filing paperworkPerforming additional clerical functions in the Human Resources department as assignedNecessary skills:Attention to detailProficiency in Excel and WordStrong communication skillsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree AND two years of experience in Human Resources OR high school diploma or equivalency diploma AND four years of experience in Human ResourcesMust take and pass Oneida County Civil Service exam when offered (Personnel Technician I)Salary and benefits:$42,000 – $51,000 depending on qualifications and experienceMonday – Friday, 35 hour work weekHealth and dental benefits availableLife insurance policyParticipation in NY State & Local Retirement SystemOptional 403(b) benefitsPaid time off to include vacation days, sick days, family days, personal days, and holidaysPlease submit a letter of interest and resume.
