Performance Responsibilities:Interact with the staff, co-workers, and the public in a friendly, service-oriented manner.Check and respond to email and ticketing systems throughout the day.High level of organizational proficiency and ability to multitask successfully.Ability to interpret and communicate departmental and district policies, rules, and regulations.Stay connected to the IT team throughout the day.Perform all responsibilities in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner and maintain strict confidentiality of school and school district information, records, and passwords.Maintains a high degree of confidentiality on sensitive issues.Detect, resolve, and to make repairs on desktop workstations, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, tablets, Newline boards, and projectors.Install and configure new IT equipment.Install and update district supported operating systems and software.Troubleshoot end user issues and research solutions if necessary.Report all necessary repairs and emergencies to the Technology Department.Provide technical assistance and basic training on common software packages to all faculty members within the Oneida City School District.Maintain up-to-date inventory of all instructional hardware and software in Web Help Desk.Maintain borrowed computer equipment, and coordinate the loaning of technology between various departments and buildings.Perform all responsibilities in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner and maintain strict confidentiality of school and school district information, records, and passwords.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, the public, vendors and staff members.Ability to manage time and responsibilities, adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse groups, meet deadlines and schedules.Ability to set priorities and manage frequent interruptions.Self-motivated.Traveling to buildings required.May be required to lift at least 25 lbs.May be required to grasp, push, reach, or stoop/kneel/crouch.Off hours work may be required to perform necessary assignments for minimal work day disruption.Participate in technology projects as needed.All other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Technology Department.Education:Candidate must meet qualifications to take the Civil Service exam. *Civil Service position subject to exam.*ANDGraduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field;ORGraduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full time, paid experience, or its part time equivalent in the operation of a computer which shall have involved diagnosing and/or preventative maintenance of hardware, software, and related peripheral equipment;ORAn equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined by the limits of the above.
