Library TA Teacher Assistant needed for the 26/27 school year. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Teaching Assistant who is passionate about bringing a love of literacy to our youngest learners. This role focuses on supporting Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate literacy lessons that introduce a variety of literacy genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and folktales. - Support "reader's choice" opportunities, encouraging students to explore books based on their interests and emerging preferences. - Guide students in expressing reader responses through play, discussion, and imaginative activities. - Create a welcoming and inclusive library environment that promotes exploration and a positive relationship with reading. - Collaborate with teachers and library staff to align lessons with early childhood learning goals. - Assist with organizing and maintaining library materials, displays, and literacy centers. - Encourage language development through storytelling, read-alouds, and interactive activities. We do not accept Teacher Assistant Certificates. Must be certified: Elementary, Library Media Specialist, and/or Literacy/Reading. $36,600/per year, benefits eligible, hours are 8:35am-3:35pm The Oceanside School District is a leader in educational excellence and student achievement.
