This individual will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the district’s technology infrastructure, instructional technology integration, data systems, and cybersecurity. The Executive Director will ensure that all technology initiatives align with the district’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. The Executive Director will provide direct supervision to the Director of Data, Assessment and Administrative Services, the District’s Information Technology Specialist, the District’s Instructional Technology Coach and the District’s Instructional Assistants.School District Leader certification REQUIREDKey Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategic PlanningDevelop and implement a comprehensive district-wide technology plan to supportinstructional and operational goals.Collaborate with district leaders, principals, and staff to identify and address technologyneeds.Serve as a member of the district’s leadership team, advising on best practices andemerging trends in educational technology.Technology Integration & Professional DevelopmentPromote the effective integration of technology into curriculum, instruction, andassessment.Provide professional development for staff to enhance their ability to use technologyeffectively in classrooms and administrative settings.Support the implementation of technology to facilitate personalized and equitablelearning opportunities.Conduct teacher observations to evaluate and support the effective integration oftechnology in instructional practices.Infrastructure & Systems ManagementOversee the maintenance, upgrades, and security of all technology infrastructure,including networks, hardware, and software.Oversee the district’s data systems, including student information systems (SIS),learning management systems (LMS), and other operational software.Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding technology, data privacy,and cybersecurity.Budgeting & Resource AllocationDevelop and manage the technology department budget, including procurement ofhardware, software, and services.Pursue grant opportunities and partnerships to enhance the district’s technologyresources.Evaluate and recommend cost-effective technology solutions to meet district goals.Supervision & CommunicationSupervise and evaluate the performance of technology staff, including IT specialists,instructional technology coach and School Instructional Assistants.Facilitate communication with all stakeholders, including parents, staff, and communitymembers, about technology initiatives.Act as a liaison between the district and vendors or external service providers.Required Skills & CompetenciesProven leadership including the ability to multitask, strong communication skills, and adesire for continuous learning and improvement.Strong knowledge of instructional technology, IT infrastructure, and cybersecuritypractices.Familiarity with federal and state technology-related regulations.Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with diversestakeholders.Visionary leadership with a commitment to fostering innovation and continuousimprovement.The Oceanside School District is a leader in educational excellence and student achievement.
