Probationary Secondary Special Education Teacher for the 24/25 School Year. Certifications Required - Students with Disabilities 7-12, additional certification area required. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Probationary High School Special Education Teacher. This position involves working with students who have diverse learning needs and require specialized instruction to reach their full potential. As a probationary teacher, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of experienced educators while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with disabilities. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional development.Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate student performance and develop appropriate interventions. Maintain accurate records of student achievement and behavioral observations.Behavior Management and Support:Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Utilize effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors and fostering social skills development. Work closely with support staff, counselors, and administrators to address student needs and ensure a safe learning environment.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices and support students in the general education setting. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and solicit feedback. Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and parent conferences as needed.Professional Growth and Development:Actively engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education. Seek feedback from colleagues and supervisors to continuously improve instructional practices.
