Location: Thompson Road Campus, Syracuse, NYDuties: Responsible for performing and providing skilled technical assistance for a variety of maintenance and repair tasks involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general construction trades. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: Promotion: Two (2) years of permanent non-competitive class status in the title of Maintenance Mechanic.Open Competitive: Six (6) years of journey level experience in plumbing, heating, cooling or electrical systems work.This is a competitive class civil service position. Candidates must be reachable on the existing eligibility list. If there is no mandated eligible list, candidates will be considered for provisional appointment. Continued employment will be contingent on successfully passing the required examination and being reachable on the Maintenance Mechanic II eligibility list.
