Duties: Will work under the direction of the Mid-State RBERN Coordinator, providing comprehensive technical assistance and support for English Language Learners (ELLs) in grades PreK-12, as well as their families and communities within the Mid-State RBERN region. This role will serve as a critical bridge between Mid-State RBERN, the greater Mid-State RBERN community, and the various agencies and services that support ELLs and their families. The role requires outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, and a collaborative team spirit. Additionally, the specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute (PRHYLI) - Syracuse Delegation by recruiting and supporting students and parents, building an alumni network to enhance civic engagement and advocacy, and providing ongoing support for PRHYLI delegates' projects. The specialist will also lead and support special events and projects, and enhance parent and community engagement through social media content development and outreach initiatives.Qualifications: Travel is required, and candidates must have a reliable mode of transportation. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, experience in event planning or coordination, community engagement, and strong communication and writing skills are essential. Requires knowledge and experience working with secondary students enrolled in the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute; outstanding oral and written skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; collaborative team player. Social media content development support. Computer literacy strongly preferred. Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
