OCM BOCES is looking for a Senior Network Administrator to be located within the Candor Central School District and other districts in the Upstate NY area. A successful candidate will administer the operation and maintenance of a local area network and/or wide area networks. Requires in-depth knowledge of the design, configuration, maintenance and management of computer network components including; switches, routers, network servers and other network storage devices (SAN). Maintains security for LAN/WAN access and devices, administers server access, all server software, backups and security. Heavy emphasis placed on the troubleshooting of network hardware and software, as well as the installation, administration and maintenance of network firewall and internet filters. Experience with VMware software and enterprise level system support required. Experience with Cisco UCS platform is highly preferred. May supervise subordinate technical staff. This is a competitive class civil service position. Candidates must be reachable on the existing eligibility list. If there is no mandated eligible list, candidates will be considered for provisional appointment. Continued employment will be contingent on successfully passing the required examination and being reachable on the Senior Network Administrator eligibility list.
